Day 7 of the Friday Writes Blog Challenge
List the books you are waiting to read on your Kindle
Reading keeps your mind sharp and helps stir new ideas for your business, for your writing, and for your life.
So here’s what’s queued up on my E-reader:
The Best Science-Fiction Masterpieces of the Century. I have been reading this book over the past week. I’m reading it slowly because each story requires a debrief and search for scholarship on its themes and concepts. The writing is just that good. It’s like reading the best episodes of the Twilight Zone or Black Mirror.
Next up is a horror tale. It’s called, The Story of Her Holding an Orange. I met the author, Milos Bogetic, and we talked about writing for about an hour. He got a big following for his book on a Reddit post, and the rest is history. I believe a TV show is in the works too.
And last but not least, The Magician’s Elephant by Kate DiCamillo. I don’t know much about this story, but I am looking forward to reading it.
My honorable mentions go to my entrepreneurship and craft books, Exactly What to Say and Bird by Bird. These books help with business advice and bring new ideas to my work as a writer.

For the next 30 days, I am hosting the Friday Writes blog challenge. It’s a 30-day challenge for bloggers and writers looking to jumpstart their blog and get connected with other writers. Topics for the entire challenge are part of the screenshot above. Share your post on Twitter with the hashtag #fridaywritesblogchallenge. Share and retweet everyone’s post. It’s for the community.
