Day 21 of the #FridayWritesBlogChallenge
Today’s Topic: Post a philosophical question and answer it.
For this post, I chose a random number using an online picker, and I used a random list from the Goog to select my philosophical question. Don’t ever do this. It may not turn out well.
I was happy when I got my number. I screenshotted it below so you could experience the same joy I experienced. ***There was much Rejoicing***
But my happiness took a nosedive when I saw my question.
I had received a dreaded political question… dunh-dunh-dunh, the plot thickened….gumbo thick.
Is there an alternative to capitalism?
I thought of rearranging the list or just changing the question because no one was looking, but my integrity manifested, and I decided to stay the course.
This was bad because I don’t usually discuss politics or economic theories on my blog, because I’ve seen forums where they do, and I don’t want this space to become a political battleground.
And if you wanted to see the full list of questions, It’s below. Choose one. It might be fun to write a thought or two.
1. Is happiness just chemicals flowing through your brain or something more?
2. Can we really know everything?
3. What is the meaning of a good life?
4. Is there a God?
5. What in life is truly objective and not subjective?
6. What is consciousness?
7. Is there inherent order in nature or is it all chaos and chance?
8. Is there an alternative to capitalism?
9. Is it more important to be respected or liked?
10. Are we in the Matrix?
But in the spirit of the blog challenge, I’ll share a little about the economic system from Star Trek.
First off, there isn’t one.
The Trekkies call it a Gift economy where you share your skill and craft to showcase your mastery of technique and discipline for the sake of being a masterful artist, not to accumulate wealth. Sounds fictional and nice.
In the meantime, I’m going to get back to enjoying the opportunity to share a bit more with you every day.
Find me on twitter if you haven’t already.
